3-year-old girl falls from Youngstown West Side apartment window

YOUNGSTOWN — Police responded Sunday to a Tyrell Street apartment after a 3-year-old reportedly fell out of a second-story window.

Officers found the girl with her mother on the north side of the building. The 29-year-old mother told police that her parents had just left the West Side residence and her daughter was looking out the window. The screen fell out, she stated to police, as the girl leaned on it. Officers noted a screen lying on the ground with a bent rail along one edge.

The child appeared to be OK, police noted, but complained of back pain and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
