Warren officer charged with DUI

BOARDMAN
A Warren police officer charged with domestic violence a year ago for a fight with his wife at his Mineral Ridge home has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Jeffrey A. Miller, 47, of Salt Springs Road, was charged with the violation Sept. 22 after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 224 at Tiffany Boulevard.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Miller, a 16-year veteran of the Warren Police Department, was eastbound on Route 224 and failed to stop at a red light and struck another vehicle.
There were no injuries, and Miller refused to take a breath-analysis test.
He was arraigned Sept. 26 in Mahoning County Court here, where he entered an innocent plea.
Judge Joseph M. Houser granted a motion by Miller’s attorney, Phil Arbie, to allow Miller to keep his driver’s license while Miller appeals an automatic driver’s-license suspension.
Miller’s first pretrial hearing will be 4 p.m. Nov. 17.
Miller and his wife, Stephanie, 29, were charged with domestic violence in October 2010 as a result of an argument between the two that resulted in bruising of their son, then 2 years old.
The outcome of the domestic-violence charges is not known.
