50th anniversary of Ciarniellos is party occasion

Ernest and Mary Ciarniello of Poland and their family celebrated the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary in September at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church hall in Lowellville, where their children hosted a party.

The Ciarniello children are Anita Becker of New Hill, N.C.; Ernie Ciarniello of Lowellville; and Jeff Ciarniello of Poland. The couple also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple are members of Holy Family Church in Poland.

Mrs. Ciarniello, a homemaker, retired in 2004 from The Georgetown in Boardman. She is a member of Ladies Bagnolese, the K.C.-Ettes, a square dance club and Lowellville Seniors.

Mr. Ciarniello, who also retired in 2004, was owner of Ernie’s Barbershop in Struthers. He belongs to Men’s Bagnolese, Knights of Columbus of Poland, a square dance club and Lowellville Seniors. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

On Sept. 9, 1961, Mr. Ciarniello and the former Mary Cataldo were married at Wellsville Immaculate Conception Church.
