60th anniversary gathers family of Mr., Mrs. Fassos

NORTH LIMA

William and Betty Fassos of North Lima celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 15.

The Fassos family gathered at Sandbridge Beach, Va., the week of July 16. The occasion was shared by nearly all extended members of the family, including the couple’s children, Christopher Fassos, Diana Zidian, William Fassos and Susan Bole, and their spouses. Also present were 10 grandchildren, as well as five great-grandchildren.

The couple were married in 1951 in Mansfield.

Mr. Fassos, a veteran of World War II, served a total of 38 years in the U.S. Navy and Reserve. He retired in 1987 after 40 years with Ohio Edison. Mrs. Fassos, a homemaker, also worked as an administrative assistant for a CPA.

The couple attend St. Christine Church in Youngstown.
