Hagan, 62, took office in the House of Representatives in 2007. He previously served as the state senator from the 33rd District from 1997 to 2006. In 2005, he ran for mayor of Youngstown, losing to eventual winner Jay Williams. He previously served as a state representative from 1987 to 1997.
Hagan did not immediately respond to a request for additional comment.
