Police make arrest in attempted robbery of Newton Falls store
NEWTON FALLS — Police have apprehended one of two people wanted in connection with an attempted robbery at the Pamida store, 2300 Milton Blvd. Sept. 26.
Raymond Sugar, 28, of West Middletown Road in Mahoning County, was arrested Friday by the Salem Police Department and is in Trumbull County jail.
Police are still looking for Ashley R. Perry, 26, of Mock Road, Berlin Center, in connection with the crime. A felony robbery warrant was issued for her last week in Newton Falls Municipal Court.
Police believe Sugar and Perry attempted to take video games from the store, but store personnel confronted them. One of the two suspects allegedly held a can of pepper spray to the face of an employee and threatened to spray him.
The employee grabbed the video games, valued at $540, and the suspects fled in a car, police said.
