Since kindergarten began at North Elementary in September, the staff, teachers, and PTO of the school have made sure that the new students and their parents feel comfortable in their new academic home.

To offer a final official welcome, the North PTO hosted their kindergarten tea on Sept. 20.

“We think that everyone is a little more comfortable now. The parents know what they’re responsible for, and the kids are established in their classrooms and excited to show off their school,” shared PTO secretary Melissa Kellgren.

PTO members asked new North parents to consider joining their organization to become better acquainted with the teachers, staff, fellow parents, and students of the school. The organization offered a PTO mentor to each parent to answer any questions or requests regarding life at North.

Soon after, the kindergarten stars were welcomed in to perform the song “Kindergarten Smile” and to recite a poem that shared, “Hi mom, hi dad. Welcome to my school!”

Kindergartner Audrey Heaton settled in with her mom, Sarah Begnaud, to enjoy drinks, treats, and conversation.

“What is your favorite part of kindergarten?” offered Begnaud.

“The best part has been riding the bus. The bus is awesome,” said Heaton.
