Nevada IHOP, scene of shooting rampage, to reopen
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Company officials say a Nevada IHOP that closed for more than a month following a deadly shooting rampage will reopen in coming weeks.
IHOP spokeswoman Rhonda Barnat said today the company hopes to reopen the Carson City restaurant in time for the upcoming holiday season. She didn’t say whether that meant Thanksgiving or Christmas.
The pancake house in a shopping center on a busy highway has been closed since Sept. 6, when Eduardo Sencion gunned down 11 people, killing four and wounding seven. He then killed himself.
Restaurant officials called the shooting a “senseless tragedy” and said they’ll always remember the victims and their families.
