More than a dozen hurt when train hits car this morning

HAVERTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Officials say more than a dozen people were hurt when a commuter train struck a car that was sitting on the tracks in a Philadelphia suburb.

A spokeswoman for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says at least 15 people had non-life threatening injuries following the collision this morning in Havertown, Delaware County.

SEPTA’s Heather Redfern tells The Philadelphia Inquirer police are trying to determine how the car ended up on the tracks.

Train service on the Norristown High Speed Line was limited while police investigate at the scene.
