Hunt invests $525K for roof

Hunt Engineering, a subsidiary of Hunt Valve Co. Inc., has made a $525,000 capital investment, bringing its recent investment total to more than $1 million.

Hunt, which supplies valves and custom components to the Navy and the steel industry and employs 50, will replace its 104,000-square-foot roof at a cost of $525,000.

The news comes after recent capital investments of $450,000 for a state-of-the-art welding department that was completed earlier this year and a $130,000 investment in a high- efficiency lighting- replacement project.

All the renovations were completed using local contractors, including Boak & Sons Inc. in Youngstown and Colian Electric LLC in Salem.

The company has been in business since 1919 at its East State Street location.
