Man robs Knights of Columbus on Columbus Day
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police are looking for a robbery suspect who appears to have no regard for history or, perhaps, a keen sense of the ironic.
State police near Uniontown say the man robbed patrons at a Knights of Columbus lodge on Columbus Day.
Police say the man claimed to have a gun but never showed one — instead keeping his hand inside his coat — as he ordered patrons to lay on the floor as he entered the club in North Union Township, Fayette County, about 10 p.m. Monday. The club is about 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.
Police say the man gave the club’s bartender a pillowcase and ordered her to fill it with money before he grabbed the sack and ran away.
Police haven’t said how much money was taken.
