A man working on a construction project at the Columbiana County Job and Family Services Department fell to his death Monday afternoon.
The name of the worker was not released pending notification of family by the Columbiana County coroner’s office.
The man fell from the building’s roof to the second floor, and when authorities arrived, he was unconscious and bleeding. The man was transported to Salem Community Hospital.

The Ohio Community Development Corp. Association has named Presley Gillespie, executive director of the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., as its staff member of the year.
The honor came during the state association’s 27th annual conference Thursday in Boardman.
During Gillespie’s two years running the YNDC, the organization has focused its attention on reviving the city’s Idora Neighborhood and on its Lots of Green land reuse program that has turned hundreds of vacant lots into green space and gardens.

The coordinator of P-12 assessment and outreach at Youngstown State University has been appointed to the Academic Distress Commission for the city schools.
Susan Moorer was sworn in Monday, replacing Kathleen Garcia. Lock P. Beachum Sr., school board president, selected Moorer, saying he wanted someone new on the commission.
Debra Mettee, commission chairwoman, previously announced that she would resign. Her replacement will be named by Stan Heffner, the state superintendent of public instruction.
The state superintendent appoints three of the five commission members with the school board president appointing the other two members.
