Salvation Army is accepting applications for those needing Christmas assistance

Salvation Army, Mahoning County Area Services, will take applications for Christmas assistance from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at 1501 Glenwood Ave.
Evening hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
Those applying must have the following: current photo-identification by driver’s license or state ID, proof of all children in the household with birth certificates, proof of other adults in the household by photo ID and Social Security cards for all adults and children in household (for verification purposes only).
Also needed is proof of income, including pay stubs from the last 30 days, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services printout from the last 30 days, child-support papers, SSI/SSD letters, workers’ compensation statements, rent subsidy/utility-allowance stubs and proof of bills including lease and mortgage papers, utility bills, car payments, insurance, child care and any other bills being paid.
Participants may sign up with only one agency or church for Christmas assistance.
