Woman is jailed for ‘Idol’ trespassing

PITTSBURGH

A Pittsburgh woman says she will fight charges that she trespassed at American Idol auditions in the city last week — charges that landed her in jail overnight. Brittany Acosta, 21, told reporters about her situation Thursday after her preliminary hearing was postponed until Oct. 17.

Acosta says she was arrested Sept. 29 during auditions at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Police charged Acosta with trespassing, saying she refused to leave when she showed up for the auditions without credentials.

Acosta says she’s spent about $10,000 traveling to various states for the show’s auditions this year and wasn’t trying to be disruptive. She says she was just following her dream and that she’s “read the criminal complaint, and it reads like I’m crazy. I’m not.”

CW cancels ‘H8R’

LOS ANGELES

In what some might call the ultimate sign of being a hater, the CW has axed the Mario Lopez-hosted series “H8R.”

The series featured celebrities (think reality starlet Kim Kardashian) as they confronted their critics to try to change their opinions of them. The series premiered to a tepid 1.3 million viewers and failed to boost that by much in the three weeks since its premiere.
