Allegiant Air has extended two flight routes out of Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport into next spring.

Flight tickets to St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Fla., and Orlando-Sanford International Airport are available on a weekly basis through May 15, according to the airline’s website, www.allegiantair.com.

The St. Petersburg/ Clearwater route previously was scheduled through the end of 2011.

The Las Vegas-based Allegiant determines flight routes and schedules approximately six months in advance based on seasonality and demand.

Flights to Myrtle Beach, S.C., which ceased Aug. 14, aren’t expected to return until at least May.

Aviation Director Dan Dickten said the airport is trying to secure additional frequency on current routes and is hoping to add additional lines, including daily service, in early 2012.

Enplanements at the airport were up nearly 50 percent during the first six months of this year.
