50-foot steel bridge stolen in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

State police are looking for someone who stole a bridge.

Police said the bridge was stolen from a wooded area by railroad tracks at Covert’s Crossing in North Beaver Township.

It was a 50-foot by 20-foot bridge made of corrugated steel, a steel web decking and steel I-beam supports. It was worth around $100,000.

It was stolen sometime between Sept. 27 and Oct. 5. Police believe the thief used a torch to cut it apart.
