LISBON
The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center adult education department will have a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the school. Included are area craft vendors, food sales and an auction.
Admission is $3. Those who bring two canned goods for donation to local food pantries will be admitted for $2. Children under 12 get in free.
Proceeds benefit adult- education programs, which include licensed practical nurse, phlebotomy, medical office, welding and community-interest classes.
Woodland walks

In honor of the 2011 U.N. International Year of Forests, four seasonal woodland walks for families are planned at Villa Maria Education & Spirituality Center. Autumn walks are either Oct. 16 or 20 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The theme is “Litter Bugs.”
The walks will include kid-friendly activities and a take-home project.
Sister Jeanne Thurin of the Humility of Mary and an environmental-education program associate at Villa Maria, will be the leader.
Cost is $2 per person (adult and child) or $5 a family of more than two and includes program materials. To register, contact Sister Jeanne at 724-964-8920, ext. 3387 or send an email to JThurin@humilityofmary.org a week before the program.
Comic-book show
YOUNGSTOWN
Lawn-con, a free comic-book show, will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 23 S. Hartford Ave. on the city’s West Side.
The event will include live music and opportunities for participants to meet with creators from mainstream companies, small presses and independent comics.
First Book of Mahoning Valley, a nonprofit organization that makes a free brand new children’s book available to any child who would like to own one, will give away 500 books from 2 to 5 p.m., while supplies last.
