Volunteers needed
GROVE CITY, PA.
Volunteers are needed for emergency drill at a free flu and pneumonia shot clinic for people 18 and older Oct. 15 at Grove City Middle School, 100 Middle School Drive, Grove City. The clinic, co-sponsored by the Community Health Partnership of Mercer County and the Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. but could close early if shots are exhausted before the scheduled closing time. If transportation is needed, call Mercer County Community Transit at 800-222-8797.
The Mercer County Pandemic Committee, which is overseeing the clinic that’s serving as a point of dispensing drill for the county, is seeking clinical and non-clinical volunteers to work that day. Interested persons should contact Bill Finley Jr. at 724-662-6100, ext. 2456.
Open house planned

Sharon Regional Health System’s School of Nursing will conduct an open house Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the school, 740 E. State St., Sharon. Prospective students and their families can meet instructors, current students, learn about financial aid and tour the facility. The school offers a 16-month diploma program. Diabetes expo

The Humility of Mary Health Partners Diabetes Expo is from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Focus on Control is the theme for the expo presented by the Humility of Mary Health Partners Diabetes Education Department. Advance directives
NILES
In recognition of Honoring Wishes Week, members of the Humility of Mary Health Partners palliative medicine team will be at St. Joe’s at the Mall from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday to assist people in completing advance directives documents. Advance directives are documents, such as do-not-resuscitate orders, living wills, organ donation and durable powers of attorney, that patients complete to direct their medical care when they are unable to communicate their own wishes due to a medical condition.
St. Joe’s at the Mall is located inside Eastwood Mall, Niles, next to Sears.
