A presentation scheduled for today at Youngstown State University’s Williamson Campus has been canceled. Aaron Manka, senior investigative scientist at the National Science Foundation, was scheduled to speak.

WARREN
A couple from Warren has claimed a second-tier prize in the Ohio Lottery’s Mega Millions game. Joseph D. Frank and Stephanie R. Weaver will split $1 million after matching all five numbers plus the megaplier in the Sept. 27 Mega Millions drawing. After mandatory federal and state withholding taxes totaling 31 percent, they will divide $690,000. They used auto pick. The winning numbers were 2-20-28-36-45+37. The megaplier number was 4. The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Fill, 4994 Mahoning Ave., in Champion. Kwik Fill receives a $1,000 agent sales bonus for selling the ticket.

BRISTOLVILLE
David D. Bennett won $310,000 after he matched all five numbers drawn in the Rolling Cash 5 drawing Sept. 28.
After mandatory federal and state withholding taxes totaling 31 percent, Bennett receives a check for $213,900.
Bennett bought the winning ticket at Bonded, 4504 Mahoning Ave. NW, in Warren. He used auto pick. The winning numbers were 8-12-24-27-34. Bonded receives a $500 agent selling bonus.
Car slams school bus
YOUNGSTOWN
A car slammed into a school bus waiting westbound in line to pick up children in the driveway of Southside Academy (formerly South Side High School), 1833 Market St., around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and ended up with its hood crunched under the bus. Some four feet of the corner of the bus was sticking into the street.
There were no children on the bus, and the driver of the car, a young male, was not injured. The bus driver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure but did not appear to be hurt, said Winnie Timpson, supervisor of transportation for Youngstown School District. Timpson said the yellow school lights flash from 3 to 5 p.m.
Youngstown police at the scene said the cause of the crash had not been determined.
I-680 crash at 711
YOUNGSTOWN
The driver of a sport utility vehicle failed to make the curve on I-680 just north of the Connecticut Avenue/Belle Vista exit around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, hit the ditch and came to rest against the abutment of the 711 Connector overpass.
Witnesses said there were no passengers in the vehicle and that the driver, who was transported to the hospital for treatment, appeared to not be seriously injured. The SUV was damaged in the front and had to be towed.
