Union voting at YSU
Youngstown
Youngstown State University’s classified-employees union voted Monday on a new contract that calls for no raises the first two years with a 2 percent increase the third year. Association of Classified Employees President Paul Trimacco said results would be announced today.
ACE employees’ health- care contributions also will increase to 10 percent of the premium the first year, 12 percent the second and 15 percent the third year. Gone is the controversial enrollment bonus. ACE members received a $375 bonus per year for every half-percent enrollment increase. Fall 2010 saw a 3.5 percent enrollment increase, so each ACE member received $2,625 bonus last December.
University trustees are to vote at a later date. Faculty-union members will continue voting today on a new three-year contract. Results are expected tonight.
