Kasich tabs Humphries for state council post


YOUNGSTOWN — Tom Humphries, president and CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, has been appointed by Gov. John Kasich to one of 15 seats on the new Local Government Innovation Council.

The council was created in the state’s 2012-2013 budget to establish criteria for and make loans and grant awards to political subdivisions for local government innovation projects. The Ohio Department of Development is coordinating the program.

Humphries term will last until Sept. 29, 2014.
