Fire cause at Do-Cut is not known

CANFIELD

The Division of State Fire Marshal is unable to find the cause of a Sept. 14 fire at Do Cut True Value Hardware.

Firefighters used heavy equipment to help extinguish the flames, which kept investigators from conducting a complete origin and cause analysis. Accidental causes or arson could not be ruled out.

Investigators were able to determine that the fire, which destroyed the store, began in the center of the building.

The fire began several hours after the last employee left the store, and was reported by an alarm company. No injuries were reported.

The fire marshal can reopen the case, if new information is made available.
