YOUNGSTOWN

Internationally best-selling suspense novelist Tess Gerritsen will make a presentation and sign her books at an Oct. 13 fundraising dinner at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Yongstown and Mahoning County, 305 Wick Ave.

Tickets for the 6 p.m. event are $55 and include a copy of Gerritsen’s newest release, “The Silent Girl.”

Gerritsen, a retired medical doctor who resides in Maine, released her first medical-thriller, “Harvest,” in 1996, and it marked her debut on the New York Times’ best-seller list.

Her suspense novels since then have included “Life Support,” “Bloodstream,” “Gravity,” “The Surgeon,” “The Apprentice,” “The Sinner,” “Body Double,” “Vanish,” “The Mephisto Club,” “The Bone Garden,” “The Keepsake” and “Ice Cold.”

Gerritsen’s books have been translated into 37 languages, and more than 20 million copies have been sold worldwide.

Her series of novels featuring Jane Rizzoli, homicide detective, and Maura Isles, medical examiner, inspired the TNT television series “Rizzoli and Isles,” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

The main library will be closed all day Oct. 13 to prepare for the dinner.

For reservations, call the library’s development office at 330-740-6086.
