SENIOR SIDELIGHTS

The State of Ohio through the “Connect Ohio” program has launched “Every Citizen Online.” The program, in partnership with more than 200 libraries, community colleges and educational centers across the state, offers free basic computer and broadband training classes to Ohio adults. Locally, McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is dedicating computer lab time to Niles SCOPE Senior Center to provide seniors the opportunity to take the free class. Free classes will begin Oct. 10 at McKinley House Library Computer Lab. The program runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and includes a workbook. Class size is limited to eight students. Pre-registration is a must. Additional advanced classes also will be offered by the SCOPE center if students wish to advance their skills. These productivity classes are $10 and are scheduled as needed. Contact SCOPE at 330-544-3676 to register.
