SENIOR CITIZENS


AARP 3104 of Canfield will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Monday at Canfield Presbyterian Church. Sofie Marian from the Centers for Hearing Care will present a program. Free hearing screenings and ear wax evaluations will take place from noon to 12:45, along with blood pressure screenings. A board meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 at the church. Reservations are still available for an Oct. 12 trip to Station Square in Erie, Pa., to see “A Salute to the Crooners.” The trip will include stops at a winery and the Pashke Mum Farm. A four-day, three-night trip is planned Nov. 15-18 to Asheville, N.C., and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., to see the Biltmore Estates Christmas, several shows and a Dollywood Christmas. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Wanda Conner will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Retirees of Ajax Magnethermic will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Station Square, 4250 Belmont Ave.

Cornersburg Happy Seniors will meet for lunch at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at A La Cart Catering, Canfield. Bingo will be the entertainment. Guests are invited to attend; call Linda Wiland at 330-793-7755 to reserve lunch at a cost of $10. Greeters are Dorothy Wood and Carolyn Steiner. The group welcomes retirees 55 or older from the Cornersburg, Austintown, Canfield, Boardman area to meet monthly to enjoy lunch and either a guest speaker or bingo. Yearly dues are $5.

55-Plus-Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Hostesses will be Vira Fry, Phyllis Matasic and Bob and Willene Pickens. Members will dine out after the business meeting and card games.

Sts. Cyril & Methodius Seniors will meet at noon Oct. 13 in the social hall, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown. A brunch will be served at noon, and birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworkers Retirees of Local Union 1330 and 1331, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Austintown Eagles Club, 1655 S. Raccoon Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome.

Trumbull Memorial Hospital Retiree Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 10 at Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. The program will be “Top 10 Estate Planning Tips,” presented by Atty. Patricia Kearney.
