Cuban writers to visit Valley for readings, workshops with high school students

Cuban authors Ra ∫l Hern °ndez Ortega and N stor Cabrera Quesada will visit the Mahoning Valley this week and will give readings of their work on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the McDonough Museum of Art on Wick Avenue and on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Lemon Grove Caf in downtown Youngstown.
Both readings are bilingual, free and open to the public. They are made possible through the Ohio Arts Council, The Rayen Foundation, and the College of Liberal Arts and ocial Sciences at Youngstown State University.
In addition, the poets will offer workshops for students at East High School and Youngstown Early College as part of the ongoing Mahoning Valley Diversity Outreach Program.
Hern °ndez is the author of 11 books of poetry and fiction, and he has been recognized with national awards in Cuba for his writings for children. Cabrera is a poet, editor and translator, having translated works from more than six countries.
