County farm-foliage tour planned

Staff report

CORTLAND

Rain or shine, The Trumbull County Farm Foliage Tour will be 1 to 5 p.m. next Sunday.

It’s a drive-it-yourself tour featuring four stops in the north central quadrant of the county.

These are the stops:

The Trumbull County Agriculture and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., where antique tractors and equipment will be on display by the Trumbull County Antique Tractor Club.

Sunburst Alpacas, 7600 state Route 46 north Mecca Center. Visitors will see a herd of alpacas.

Greene Eagle Winery, 2576 Davis Peck Road. The Bliss brothers and their wives opened the doors in December 2009 on a 60-acre farm. The area is mostly wooded, and the winery is a timber-peg Cape Cod with an early American look.

Farm Girl’s Honey, 8710 Dennison Ashtabula Road, just south of state Route 87. Ed and Kimmer Wolfinger decided to become beekeepers after years of research and planning and now have 10 hives.

Farm Foliage Tour maps and brochures will be available at each of the stops the day of the event or at the agriculture and family education center or Trumbull County Tourism Bureau on Mahoning Avenue Northwest in Warren during normal business hours.
