Al Asir annual scholarship dinner-dance set for Oct. 29

Al Asir Temple 210 and Al Asir Court 200 are planning their annual scholarship dinner-dance for Oct. 29 at Holiday Inn here.
The event will honor eight charted members: Nobles Ben Frazier, Willie Williams, George Thompson and Phillip Lawrence and Daughters Gwendolyn M. Byrd, Nellie Ruth Huff, P. Sandra Hunter and Mary Jane Stephens.
Al Asir Temple was founded in 1910 and is dedicated to the principles of civic, economic and education development throughout the world.
The Youngstown temple, on Wood Street, was founded in August 1982; the local women’s court was founded July 25, 1987.
Members are from Warren, East Liverpool, Wellsville, Canton and Steubenville.
Locally, the club awards scholarships and provides school supplies, food baskets and donations to battered women.
