Ursuline Center hosts support group for unemployed
The Ursuline Center will host a seven-week program designed to aid local job seekers. The program will include sessions from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield.
“Hope Works of the Mahoning Valley” is a free support group for the unemployed and/or under employed in the area offering participants the opportunity to enhance their job prospects by sharpening their job-hunting skills, as well as expand their networking and search strategies. Each of the seven weeks, presenters will be sharing their expertise for people of all skill levels.
Topics and dates: Oct. 5, Fine Tuning Your Cover Letter, Resumes, and Skill Set; Oct. 12, Reinventing YOU and Thinking Outside the Box; Oct. 19, Going Where the Jobs Are, Exploring the Health Care Field; Oct. 26, Employers Panel with Tips and Suggestions; Nov. 2, Opportunity for Mock Interviews; Nov.9, Computer Skills for the Job Search: Basics & Beyond.
The Nov. 9 session will be held at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield, so that each person has access to their own computer.)
