Trash, treasure sale today at Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliffe Ave., is having a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, rain or shine, featuring a “junk in the truck” section in the parking lot. Sunday art show to reflect 80-plus years

YOUNGSTOWN

An art show and open house featuring the work of Joseph L. Thomas is set for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at his home, 559 Liberty Road, on Youngstown’s East Side.

Thomas has been an artist for more than 80 years, creating sculptures and murals, as well as oil paintings.

He also was the youngest member of the Dunbar Choral Society as a young man, singing opera, spirituals and pop songs, and displayed talent as a musician and dancer as well.

Refreshments will be served. Calendars, cards, T-shirts and prints of his work, as well as some originals, will be available for sale.

The event is being hosted by Thomas’ family. Reservations are requested; call 330-743-3526.
