St. Elizabeth Health Center is offering self-guided tours during an open house today at its hospital at 1044 Belmont Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The open house is part of St. Elizabeth’s 100th anniversary celebration. St. Elizabeth Hospital, which would become Humility of Mary Health Partners, was founded Dec. 8, 1911.

Displays of the self-guided tour show some of the hospital’s milestones of the last 100 years, including a Centennial Historical Display at the south end of the Park Avenue lobby.

The historical display, dedicated on Dec. 8, 2010, at the start of the year-long centennial celebration, includes photos and artifacts that trace the changes in health care and the growth of HMHP during its century of existence, and a video of current and past employees talking about their experiences.

Other potential tour stops include:

Healing Art Display, in the hallway outside the St. Elizabeth Heart Lab near the Park Avenue lobby. The art was created by Mahoning County students in grades 10 to 12 competing in a healing-art contest to explore the therapeutic properties of art.

St. Elizabeth School of Nursing Alumni Gallery, in the west hallway between A and B elevators.Displays pictures of current and past nurses.

Belmont Avenue Lobby. Take the B elevator to the third floor to the lobby, which was for many years the main entrance to the hospital. Today it provides access for inpatient and outpatient surgery and endoscopy patients and a place for family members to wait.

Now and Then Gallery, second floor, west hallway between B and A elevators. Historical photos that show hospital changes over the years. Other stops along this hallway include private dining rooms and Chapel Hallway, with photos and newspaper documentation of the establishment of St. Elizabeth Hospital.

St. Elizabeth Health Center Chapel.

2-South Pavilion, which houses the Gift Shoppe, Espresso Caf , the surgical waiting room, and a showcase containing HMHP’s recent health-care awards.

Administrator’s Gallery, second floor, south extension hallway near A elevators. Portraits of former administrators and the offices of current hospital leaders.
