BOARDMAN
The 35th annual Boardman Rotary Oktoberfest is expected to draw thousands Sunday.
The one-day event in Boardman Park will feature about 100 arts and crafts vendors, 22 nonprofit vendors and about a dozen commercial vendors, said Ginny Amstutz, Boardman Rotary president.
Vendors from five states will show their crafts at the event that runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $3 for adults and children age 12 or older, and free parking is available on the west side of the park, near the Southern Boulevard entrance.
“We give all that money away into the community, to other nonprofits,” Amstutz said of the money generated by the admission charge.
Some of the charitable organizations supported by Boardman Rotary include Easter Seals, Beatitude House and Mission of Love, she added.
The Boardman High School band and Sweet Adelines will each perform throughout the day, and a food court will be set up in the park.
The event is expected to draw about 20,000 people, Amstutz said, and will go on rain or sunshine.
