Warren police investigating homicide

WARREN — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred at just after midnight today at a restaurant and tavern on Youngstown Road.

Kristopher T. Kyser, 22, of Paige Avenue Northeast, died this morning after being shot in the hip at Cafe 22.

Police were called to Cafe 22, at 2006 Youngstown Road, at 12:10 a.m. Kyser had already been taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital when police arrived.

Police tried to question a 29-year-old Warren man who may have witnessed the shooting, but he refused to cooperate.

Kyser was sentenced in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court last October to 18 months in prison on a probation violation.

He was also convicted of misdemeanor assault in 2008 and misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in 2009.
