Judson Wallace, president of VAM USA, LLC, an affi liate of Vallourec Group, the parent company of V&M Star, announces a $57 million investment in a new plant near V&M that will create 100 full-time jobs.

V&M Star has announced a $57 million dollar expansion project that could create 100 new jobs.

"These plans call for the renovation of a 200,000-square-foot building currently in the V&M Star complex, and located within the Cooperative Agreement Zone formed by Youngstown and the City of Girard, Ohio in October 2009," the company said in a news release.

The expansion is on top of the new $650 million mill that will create nearly 400 new jobs. That mill will open sometime in 2012.

“Our products are the industry leader in the natural gas production industry,” said Judson Wallace, president of VAM USA. “Expanding in Youngstown made sense for us as it brings us very close to customers working in both the Marcellus and Utica shales."
