Snow caps off rainy spell in western Ohio

WILMINGTON, Ohio (AP) — As much as a couple of inches of wet snow have fallen in western Ohio, with colder temperatures bringing a change after several days of rain.

The National Weather Service said early today that 3.7 inches of snow was reported in the village of Botkins in Shelby County. Greenville in Darke County received 3 inches and Bellefontaine in Logan County got 2 inches. The weather service recorded an inch in the Dayton area, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport reported four-tenths of an inch.

Weather service employees say two-tenths of an inch of snow fell at the agency’s southwest Ohio office in Wilmington, though much of that melted as it came down.
