Roger Moore, who’s best known for playing James Bond during the 1970s and ’80s, returns

Roger Moore, who’s best known for playing James Bond during the 1970s and ’80s, returns to TV Saturday in a new Hallmark Channel movie, “A Princess for Christmas.” The 84-year-old actor plays a reclusive grandfather who overcomes some emotional issues to welcome his grandchildren to their ancestral home. Here are five of Moore’s notable (or perhaps not) TV roles:

v “The Alaskans” (1959-60): In this drama, Moore played Silky Harris, an adventurer/swindler seeking his fortune in Alaska’s 1898 Gold Rush.

v “Maverick” (1960-61): When James Garner left the Western in a contract dispute after its third season, Moore was tapped to replace him as Bret Maverick’s cousin, Beau.

v “The Saint” (1967-69): Moore’s most famous TV role was as the wealthy, sophisticated but morally ambiguous Simon Templar.

v “The Persuaders” (1971-72): In this caper series, Moore teamed with Tony Curtis as a pair of international playboys who solved crimes for a lark.

v “The Dream Team” (1999): In this short-lived syndicated series, Moore played the head of a group of intelligence agents known as the Dangerous Reconnaissance Emergency Action Mission Team.

“scott turow’s innocent” (9 p.m., tnt): “Scott Turow’s Innocent” is a TV-movie sequel that follows the exploits of judge Rusty Sabich (Bill Pullman), who is accused of killing his wife (Marcia Gay Harden). His trial takes a dramatic turn when it’s revealed that he had a recent affair.

“sons of anarchy” (10 p.m., fx): Another blistering season of “Sons of Anarchy” nears its end with the first installment of a two-parter. It has Jax (Charlie Hunnam) facing a major challenge that threatens the future of both the club and his family.
