3 boys charged in Pa. elementary school assault
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Three boys are facing charges stemming from a reported sex assault at a Philadelphia elementary school.
Capt. John Darby said the 10- and 11-year-old boys have been taken into police custody and charged as juveniles with attempted rape, unlawful restraint, indecent assault and related counts.
A police investigation got under way earlier this month, after a fourth-grader at Bryant Elementary School in West Philadelphia told his mother that three boys followed him into the restroom and assaulted him.
Darby said after investigators spoke with all four boys, the district attorney’s office determined there was enough evidence to file charges. The alleged assailants were at a juvenile facility today pending a hearing.
The boys’ names were not released.
