3 arrested in W.Pa. multistate theft spree

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania say they’ve arrested three people from New York who allegedly went on a multistate shoplifting spree.

Authorities in Ross Township, about 10 miles north of Pittsburgh, say the suspects kept detailed notes of what they stole and what stores they hit.

Forty-year-old Theresa Lynn Warner, her juvenile son, and 39-year-old Christopher Frances Damaio are all charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. They were originally arrested for allegedly stealing $500 worth of baseball cards.

Police believe the trio rented a cargo van and traveled from New York to Pennsylvania targeting 80 to 90 stores along the way. The estimated value of the stolen merchandise is more than $35,000.
