Girard United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., is having a holiday live and silent auction from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be appetizers, desserts and live entertainment. Tickets cost $5. To buy tickets call 330-545-4361.
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, is having a Christmas auction from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the VFW Triangle Post Scholarship Fund.
BAZAARS
Girard Junior Women will sponsor a holiday bazaar to coincide with a visit from Santa on Saturday at the Girard City Gym, 110 Main St. The bazaar begins at 10 a.m., and Santa is expected from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., so take cameras. The event will feature a bake sale, face painting, tree raffle, holiday shopping with kid-friendly prices, crafts and a coloring contest. In addition there will be a basket raffle and a knife sale.
Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem, will host a Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Among the items for sale will be arts, crafts and holiday gifts, and a basket auction will be featured. New vendors call 330-332-5512 or stop in.
CRAFT SHOWS
Canfield High School’s senior class will have its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the school, 100 Cardinal Drive. This 23rd annual event will feature 240 vendors as well as a basket auction. Admission, parking and shuttle service from overflow parking lots are free.
Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, is having a craft sale along with a bake sale, rummage sale, basket auction and lunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Available for lunch will be homemade soups, pies, sandwiches, etc., and soup by the quart. More than 40 vendors will be present, selling Christmas decorations, toys, jewelry and household items.
South Range Middle School PTO is seeking vendors for its second annual craft show, scheduled for March 10, 2012. Tables can be rented for $25 by calling 330-533-6509 or by emailing kmckee@southrange.org. The application process must be completed by Feb. 25, 2012.
Student Art Association at Youngstown State University will sponsor its Fine Art and Craft Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The sale will take place at the McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., on the YSU campus. The SAA also will host a chance auction. All proceeds benefit the association.
Ursuline Preschool & Kindergarten will present the 23rd annual “Once Upon a Christmas” Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ursuline Center, 4300 Shields Road, Canfield. RAFFLES
The Church Mouse Thrift Shop, 261/2 W. Broad St., Newton Falls, will have a raffle of Christmas items Dec. 20. The articles have been donated by the Warren Township Garden Club and are on display at the thrift shop. Tickets are $1 each or seven for $5, and can be purchased at the Church Mouse on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Menagerie Thrift and Gift Shoppe, 6037 E. Market St., Warren, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. SPECIAL EVENTS
First Covenant Church, 5210 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, will have its 40th and final Lucia breakfast and festival Saturday. There will be baked goods, a Swedish auction, Swedish items, and singing and dancing. Northeast Ohio Regional Quilt Council announces the 2012 Getaway Weekend, “Quilters Give a Hoot,” which is scheduled for Feb. 17 through 19 at Quail Hollow Resort in Painesville, Ohio. The event will give those interested in quilting the opportunity to take classes, shop hop, relax and meet other quilters.
