Shreves, family gather to mark 60th milestone

AUSTINTOWN

G. Howard and Ginny Shreve of Austintown celebrated 60 years of marriage Nov. 17. They gathered with family over Thanksgiving weekend at the home of their daughter.

The former Ginny Burk and Mr. Shreve were married Nov. 17, 1951, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Youngstown. They are members of Westview Church of Christ.

The Shreves are the parents of Jennifer (Michael) Kurish of Austintown and Scott (Evelyn) Shreve of Devon, Pa. They have four grandchildren.

Mrs. Shreve retired in October 1997 from Associated School Employees Credit Union, where she was a member service representative. She was a member of Mau-Mil Auxiliary to Miriam Chapter 278, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mr. Shreve, a school psychologist who retired in 1987, was employed by the Mahoning County Board of Education and Austintown School District. He is a member of Austintown Retired Teachers Association and has been active in the Austintown Growth Foundation and the Mahoning County Republican Party Central Committee.

He served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and during the Korean War.
