Kobuses mark 50th with their family

Lawrence Sr. and MaryAnn Kobus of Hubbard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 26 at a party hosted by their children at The Gentry.

The Kobus children are Julie (Shannon) Cox and Larry Kobus Jr., both of Youngstown; Mary Clare (Frank) Sepulveda and Karen (Anthony) Thomas, both of Girard; and Tina (Brian) Ladd of Hubbard. Helping to host the event was Michael Hauck of Hubbard, considered “just like a son” to the couple. The Kobus family includes nine grandchildren.

The former MaryAnn Storey married Mr. Kobus on Nov. 25, 1961, at St. Edward Church in Youngstown, where the couple are members.

Mrs. Kobus retired in 2001 as a cafeteria assistant at St. Edward School.

Mr. Kobus retired in 2000 as a press operator at Commercial Shearing in Youngstown. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
