Agent Orange seminar planned
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
Vietnam veterans are invited to an Agent Orange seminar from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Lawrence County commissioners’ meeting room at the county courthouse, Shirley Noga, director of Lawrence County Veteran Affairs, announced.
Daniel Slack, Agent Orange coordinator for the Butler VA Medical Center, will provide information about symptoms of exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides, including birth defects or illnesses affecting children of exposed veterans.
E. Liverpool police chief dead at 63
EAST LIVERPOOL
East Liverpool’s longtime police chief, Michael McVay, 63, died Saturday in East Liverpool City Hospital, according to 21 WFMJ-TV.
The East Liverpool Police Department said McVay died at the hospital from an unspecified medical issue after being stricken at home. He had been chief since the mid-1990s.

Children will receive winter coats through 2011 Project Warm.

Garage fire reported

A man was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown after a garage fire on Cedar Street at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the Mercer County 911 Center. No other information was available Saturday night.
