Cristal Cioci and Mario Olivera, both of Virginia Beach, Va., were united in marriage Oct. 14 at the Virginia Beach courthouse.

Allen Sokolik, marriage commissioner, performed the morning ceremony for the daughter of John and Annette Cioci of Struthers and the son of Enrique and Maria Olivera of Virginia Beach.

The bride wore an ivory knee-length dress with a scoop neckline and back.

In addition to both sets of parents, attending the ceremony were Michelle Robison, the bride’s sister; Alejandro Olivera, the groom’s son; and Anthony Cioci, the bride’s brother.

Mrs. Olivera earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in applied developmental psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

She is a team leader with Hope House Foundation in Norfolk, Va.

Mr. Olivera is a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy. He has served for 11 years and is stationed in Virginia Beach.

A honeymoon has been postponed until the groom’s return from deployment. The couple live in Virginia Beach.
