First Night buttons are now available

First Night Youngstown admission buttons are now on sale for $10 ($5 for students age 13 through college with ID, senior citizens and members of the military with ID; free for children 12 and under).

Go to firstnightyoungs-townoh.com to purchase or to find a list of locations where the buttons are for sale. The buttons also can be purchased from some nonprofit organizations, including OH WOW!, The Rotary Club of Youngstown, and Friends of Pawstown at Boardman Park.

First Night is a family-friendly, alcohol-free, celebration of the arts in downtown Youngstown. The admission button grants admission to a number of entertainment venues.

This year’s button includes vouchers that are good for two tickets to the Youngstown State University women’s basketball game at 2 p.m. Dec. 31 (a $16 value); two tickets to any performance of “Medea” at YSU Theater on Feb. 23-26 and March 2-4 (a $20 value); and a voucher for a buy one, get one ticket to the steel museum (a $7 value).

Cedar Point sets auditions in Pa.

Representatives from Cedar Point will have auditions in Pittsburgh for entertainers and stage technicians for live shows at the amusement park during the 2012 season. Open auditions and interviews will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in Lawrence Hall Studio 204 at Point Park University, downtown. Registration will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Applicants must be at least 18 by May 2012 to audition. Each audition piece should be limited to 16-32 bars. Applicants should select music that is upbeat and illustrates their personality and ability to interact with audience members.
