Thanksgiving fire loss set at $190K in Howland

The cause of an early morning Thanksgiving Day fire is still under investigation, firefighters said.
Firefighters were called to 7796 Trefeathen Drive around 6 a.m. Thursday and responded with 24 firefighters, four engines and one ladder truck, according to reports. Bazetta Fire Department and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
The fire, which originated in the family room, caused about $90,000 worth of damage to the structure and $100,000 to the contents, firefighters said.
No one was hurt in the blaze and the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
