Riquna Williams scored 17 points for Miami in the final of the Great Alaska Shootout. Shenise Johnson added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Hurricanes (4-1). Sylvia Bullock, a Miami forward playing in her hometown of Anchorage, scored 10 points. Jasmine Wynne led South Florida (4-3) with 21 points. Kaneisha Saunders added 11 points for the Bulls, and Akila McDonald and Andrell Smith had 10 apiece.

No. 15 Purdue 61, Tulane 48

CANCUN, Mexico

Brittany Rayburn scored 20 points and KK Houser added 15 to help Purdue beat Tulane in the Cancun Challenge.Sam Ostarello added nine points and 10 rebounds for Purdue (5-0).

No. 4 Connecticut 73, UNC Asheville 63

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas

Shabazz Napier and Jeremy Lamb each scored 23 points to help Connecticut run its winning streak to 16 games in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis. Napier made four 3-pointers, including a late 4-point play, and also had seven assists and three steals for the defending national champion Huskies (5-0). Connecticut shot 52 percent (25 of 47) from the field and 40.9 percent (9 of 22) from 3-point range to easily overcome 19 turnovers. The Huskies will face Central Florida in the second round. UCF beat College of Charleston 74-63. Matt Dickey led Asheville (2-3) with 18 points, and Jeremy Atkinson added 18.

No. 22 Florida State 73, Massachusetts 53

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas

Michael Snaer had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Florida State took advantage of Massachusetts’ dismal shooting in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis. Luke Loucks added 12 points, and Bernard James had nine points and five blocks for the Seminoles (5-0). Raphiael Putney scored 11 points for Massachusetts (4-1). The Minutemen were 19 of 68 from the field and 2 for 23 from 3-point range.
