A 14-year-old Philadelphia boy charged with murder after reportedly taking his mother’s car for an early-morning joyride that ended in a fatal crash will spend the next four years in a juvenile detention facility.
The Bucks County Courier Times says the case was sent to juvenile court in a tentative plea deal struck during a hearing Wednesday in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.
The youth had been charged as an adult after the June 30 crash that killed 22-year-old Daniel Fouracre of Bensalem and injured several other people. When he is released at age 18, he will be on probation until he turns 21.
