“Dancing at Lughnasa” and “Amadeus,SDRq at Weathervane Playhouse, Akron. Auditions are 7 to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, scheduled in 10-minute blocks. Disney’s “Mulan,SDRq New Castle Playhouse, New Castle, Pa. Auditions are 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 and 12 for youths age 8-18. Be prepared to sing a one-minute vocal selection of your choice. You may sing a capella or use an accompaniment CD (no vocal tracks). You are strongly encouraged to choose a Disney tune or Broadway tune, and you may be asked to read from the script. “Shining City,SDRq The Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown. Auditions are at 7 p.m. The play is set in Dublin, where a guilt-ridden man reaches out to a therapist after seeing the ghost of his recently deceased wife. The script calls for three men and one woman: John, 50s, haunted by his dead wife; Ian, 30s-40s, a novice therapist; Laurance, 30s, man of the streets; and Neasa, 20s-30s, a strong, blue-collar woman. Auditoners must be prepared to read from the script; all actors will be asked to demonstrate a light Irish dialect. Performances will be 8 p.m. Feb. 3-4, 10-11 and 17-18.
