A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown and Salem, closed Thursday; Warren, Niles and Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed Thursday and Friday; Sharon, closed Thursday, Friday and Monday; New Castle, closing at noon today and closed Thursday and Friday.

County offices: Mahoning and Columbiana, closed Thursday; and Trumbull, Mercer and Lawrence, closed Thursday and Friday.

All state offices: closed Thursday.

Federal offices: U.S. Post Office, closed Thursday; Federal Bankruptcy Court and District Court, closed Thursday and Friday.

Schools: Youngstown, Salem and Niles, closed today through Friday; Warren and Youngstown Diocese, closed Thursday and Friday; Sharon, closed Thursday, Friday and Monday; and New Castle, closed today through Friday and Monday.

Universities: Youngstown State and Kent State at Trumbull, closed Thursday and Friday.

Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA): closed Thursday; regular schedule Friday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, Warren-Trumbull, Hubbard Public Library, Girard Free Library and Newton Falls Public Library, closed Thursday; Kinsman Free Public Library, closed Thursday through Saturday; Bristol Public Library, Bristolville, closed Thursday and Friday; McKinley Memorial Library, closed at 5 p.m. today and all day Thursday.

Stock market: Stifel Nicolaus, closed Thursday, and stock market closes at 1 p.m. Friday.

Banks: Chase Bank; Charter One; Cortland Banks; Farmers National Bank; First National Bank; First Place Bank in Warren; Home Federal Savings & Loan in Niles; Home Savings & Loan; Huntington Bank in Austintown; Key Bank; PNC Ohio; PNC Pennsylvania; and US Bank in Poland, Boardman, Canfield and Warren area, all closed Thursday.

Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., closed Thursday; service one day late for Thursday and Friday pickup.

Allied Waste: Closed Thursday, service delayed one day through Saturday.

Waste Management, Warren City Environmental Services, Waste-Tech Service: closed Thursday, service delayed one day.
