Comedian Dat Phan coming to Kent Stage

Dat Phan, the original winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” will perform at Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St., at 8 p.m. Dec. 2. Tickets are $25, $30 and $50 and are available by calling 888-718-4253.

Dat Phan has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Tyra Banks Show.” Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he grew up poor in San Diego. His culturally insightful comedy inspects stereotypes and shares his experience of being a regular American guy with a Vietnamese heritage.

SCOPE to present ‘Frosty Frolics’

SCOPE Inc. of Trumbull County will present “Frosty Frolics,” a family celebration of Christmas, at 7 p.m. Saturday at Packard Music Hall.

The show, under the direction of Pamela Plesea, is in its 15th year, and previously was presented at Mineral Ridge High School.

This year’s show will feature the Girard Community Swing Time Band, magician/illusionist Steven Bloom, Joe “Hoss” Jarman, Danielle Sexton, Victorian Carolers, the Mineral Ridge High School dancers, A Patriotic Salute, the SCOPE Sassy Tappers, singer Tony DeFoor and more.

Tickets will be $12 ($8 for children 16 and under) at the door. For more information, call the Warren SCOPE Senior Center at 330-399-8846.

Youth concert band plans winter event

YOUNGSTOWN

The Henry H. Stambaugh Youth Concert Band will present its annual winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. Admission is $3 ($1 for students).

The concert will feature the music of Edwin Franko Goldman, Frank Ticheli, Murray Houllif, Ralph Vaughn Williams and “Russian Christmas Music” by Alfred Reed as the highlight of the program.

Guest soloists will be Susan Sexton, trumpet; and Ronald Gould performing on the newly restored Skinner pipe organ for the “Russian Christmas Music.”
